Lido Isle was established in 1928 with plans of creating a resort
patterned after the world famous Lido in Venice, Italy. After World War II ended, Newport Beach became a popular beach resort town for Hollywood Celebrities and the wealthy in the Los Angeles area. Many of them came to Lido Isle to build homes.
This small community now holds over 850 homes with 350 of them on the bay. There are many recreation activities on Lido Isle, including a beach, clubhouse, barbeques and more. The historical Cannery Village is also located on Lido Isle.
